Artist Statement
For many years, I explored the various nuances of photography applied in our society, finding myself increasingly close to the practice but further away from its commercial purpose. Gradually, I abandoned digital formats to focus on tangible containers that I could appreciate and mold with my own hands. That’s how I delved into the world of analog photography and the alternative and historical processes of photography.
Today, after learning under the guidance of artists I admire and self-instructing through my personal library, which I always seek to expand, I apply my knowledge in photography and the darkroom for teaching, mentoring, personal artistic projects, and commissions.
In my most personal works, I seek to capture the essence of what I see: a quest for the primal aspects of human emotions and creations, not trying to explain but inviting the observer’s curiosity to delve beyond the complexity and into the simplicity of the essential.
In a world that sees progress in cataloging every detail, the dehumanization of actions, and the obfuscation of everything that doesn’t fit into our conformity, I strive to preserve the processes that connect us to what makes us feel.
I am against artificial intelligence and I am a faithful preacher of artisanal intelligence.
